SEOUL!!!

Okay, so I've been in Seoul for a week now, and I finally figured out this Korean on my computer so I could log on to this blog.  

My Korean is gettting pretty good.  I've mastered the basics, and I plan on being able to read it by the time the month is over.  But, we'll see about that.  I don't have much time to practice because we work way too much.  And, there's no speaking Korean in the camp.  It's very hard and intense for the kids.

The kids over here are simply adoreable.  I'm amazed by how smart they are.  At a very young age, they know more English already than most, if not all, of their parents.  It's kinda crazy!

I have to eat lunch with the kids EVERY DAY, so my food intake consists of the following for lunch:

Today's lunch: cold corn dog smothered in ketchup, white rice, some kind of fried meat substance with honey mustard, a fruit cup in some kind of whip cream water, and strawberry yogurt in a container that seems like it should hold a fruit roll-up.  Mmmmm...yummy, right?  No, not really. I usually just scarf it down and leave the kids' table, so I can take a break which is long over due.  Oh yeah, and kimchi, which Koreans eat with every meal.  It's this pasta/vegetable looking stuff with red sauce.  It's cold and spicy and doesn't taste very good at all.  I hear it's very healthy for you though.

I go to Tokyo!!!

Yes!!! I get to go to Tokyo. Well, the airport at least for a 2 hour layover. Still,Tokyo all the same. Can't wait to see what the future looks like. Cuz I'm pretty sure that Tokyo is futuristic, at least in my head it is.

The first flight to Detroit sucked though. Too much turbulence made me wanna vomit.
Lotta beer the night before + too many bull blasters + an early morning flight with only 2 hours of sleep = not a good stomach sensation for Chris.
Credit to Lisa for all those terrible shots last night. There's really no need to drink bull blasters ever again. "Yagher Bombs!!!" Stupid.

Anyways, more to come once I arrive in "The Future"...

FYI - Seoul is 14 hours ahead of Central time in case you were wondering.

Just Got My Visa

Finally...

Got my 3 month Korean Visa to go teach English in "the Seoul of Asia" for a month!!!

Only 5 days left and counting before I set sail.  Or, more like a 20+ hour flight with no telling how many stops and layovers along the way.
